I
was so very blessed and grateful to be able to go to
General Conference this last weekend for the very first time. It was an amazing experience! Thanks to my AWESOME Big brother and his AMAZING wife Emily, I was able to snatch up a couple tickets. I think we take
General Conference for granted sometimes. There is so much more than just being able to have a legit excuse to not go to church. We are so blessed to be able to hear from our church leaders, and especially our dear
Prophet, and the guidance they give. I have to say that actually going to
General Conference versus just watching it on television are entirely different things! There is just something about being in a room with 21,000 people--- and having complete reverence when the
Prophet walks in. It is the most tremendous feeling- words cannot describe. I have never been in the same building as a
Prophet, so it was a new experience for me.
As for the Building itself, it was extraordinary! I cannot get over how it is built! We sat in the balcony so we could overlook the entire audience, I was in awe when we walked in! Another thing I had never seen, was the
Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I know they sound the same as they do on T.V. but in real life, and the setting it was just AWESOME!
Although Conference was an eye opener, I have to say the best part of the day was that it was
Easter. I love this day- it was my first one away from my family, which was really weird, but none the less it was a good day.
President Monson really emphasized on service- the biggest thing I learned this
Easter. Our Savior served us by atoning for our sins, and dying for us. Although we could never repay a debt such as that one- we can do it in different ways. I am so thankful for my parents who are ALWAYS serving us kids, and for teaching us the true meaning of
Easter. So in all it was a testimony building experience for me. Thanks again Em and Jas- LOVE YOU GUYS! I just posted some pictures of the amazing Conference Center also because I am so intrigued with it!
